GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invests in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund.

With over 10 years in the financial services industry, Nolwazi Hlophe has been instrumental in shaping South African regulatory frameworks that promote innovation while ensuring consumer protection.
Her research includes AI in the financial sector, decentralised finance, the evolution of open finance, and suptech in South Africa.
Nolwazi is a member of the IAIS Fintech Forum, Co-lead of the IFWG’s Regulatory Guidance Unit and Deputy Chair of the Open Finance Integration Working Group (OPI WG).
She holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Pretoria and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Financial Technology at the University of Cape Town.
