The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2024 to harness technology and foster innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems through global partnerships. GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invests in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund.

Senior Digital Expert, International Monetary Fund
Sonja is a Senior Digital Expert for Transformative Technologies at the International Monetary Fund. She recently concluded her post as Advisor at the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub (BISIH) Singapore as a secondee from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). In that capacity, she led the Hub’s digital asset program including projects Mariana, Mandala, and Rialto. Prior to that Sonja worked as Market Infrastructure Expert on the digital euro investigation phase at the European Central Bank (ECB).
Sonja holds an MA from Bonn University and an MSc from Georgetown University.
