Empower Finance Alliance Lead, International Finance Corporation

Ryan is the Global Lead of the Empower Finance initiative at the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC). Through this pioneering initiative, Ryan brings together banks, regulators, and community organizations across the Asia-Pacific region to co-design solutions that prevent and respond to financial abuse—particularly where financial products are misused to control or harm others. Through Empower Finance, IFC is working closely with clients to reduce risk and better protect vulnerable customers. Prior to this role, Ryan led the Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion division at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he spent over a decade driving cultural transformation to foster a safer, more respectful, and inclusive workplace. Ryan also serves as an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales School of Social Sciences and advises the Family Friendly Workplaces initiative, contributing to broader efforts that support families and promote workplace wellbeing.
