Aarti Rana

Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited, Nepal

Aarti Rajya Laxmi Rana is a seasoned banking professional with over two decades of experience in Nepal’s financial sector. As Chief Business Officer at Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited, she leads the Commercial and Industrial Credit Division and played a key role in the post-merger integration of Laxmi Bank and Sunrise Bank—one of Nepal’s largest banking consolidations.

She represents the Bank in the IFC Empower Finance Alliance, working towards greater financial inclusion and protection against financial abuse. She also supports initiatives that promote women’s leadership and workplace equity through the Bank’s SPARK platform. Her professional interests extend to ESG and sustainable finance. She has completed executive education in ESG and Sustainable Finance from the Barcelona School of Management and the Executive Program in Women’s Leadership from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. A NORAD Scholar, she holds a certificate in Hydropower Project Financing from the International Centre for Hydropower, Norway, and is an alumna of the Leadership Academy Nepal’s Executive Program conducted by Rice University, USA.

Aarti serves on the Board of Adhyanta Fund Management, a pioneer in private equity in Nepal, and has previously served on the boards of the National Banking Institute, Global IME Capital, and Mero Microfinance. Beyond her professional sphere, she is the President-Elect (2025–26) of the Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers, where she champions initiatives in education, health, environmental sustainability, and women’s empowerment.

Aarti holds an MBA in Finance from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, University of Pune, India.
