Vincent Lau

Global Head of Digital Money, HSBC

Vincent is the Global Head of Digital Money at HSBC Global Payments Solutions (GPS), leading the bank's development in digital currencies and emerging payments with clients, central banks, and consortiums worldwide. Based in Hong Kong, he is also an appointed member of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) Policy Research Committee. His global remit encompasses leading HSBC’s DLT-payments, Tokenised Deposit Service, and stablecoin initiatives. He actively supports central bank digital currency (CBDC) explorations in key projects like Agorá, mBridge, the E-CNY Pilot, Project Ensemble, eHKD+, and Project Guardian.

With over 20 years of transaction banking experience across HSBC, Citi, and ANZ, Vincent's expertise spans Cash Management, Supply Chain Finance, and Digital Currencies. He holds a BSE in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan and master's degrees in Information Economics from Michigan and E-Business Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
