Regional Director of Southeast Asia, Women's World Banking

Angelique Timmer is the Regional Director for Southeast Asia at Women’s World Banking, where she leads efforts to expand women’s economic participation across three priority markets: Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

A seasoned executive, startup founder, and former consulting partner, Angelique has led bold transformations in financial systems to make them more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable. She has held leadership roles at Allianz and KoinWorks, where she launched inclusive insurance, gender-smart investments, and digital solutions for MSMEs. As the founder of the green finance startup Ivy, she pioneered climate-aligned financing models that link environmental and economic resilience in Indonesia.

Angelique brings a bold vision for finance as a force for good—championing solutions that serve women, communities, and the planet. She regularly speaks on inclusive fintech, climate and gender finance, and women’s leadership. Her research on low-income consumer behavior has been published in the European Journal of Development.

She holds a degree in International Economic Geography from the Faculty of Geosciences at the University of Utrecht, and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Meaningful Business Leaders globally in 2024.
