Professor Andreas Chai is the Director of the Academy of Financial Crime Investigation and Compliance and an applied microeconomist specialized in the area of household behavior. His current research include: big data approaches to measuring the shadow economy and modelling global flows of suspicious transactions. He has completed projects for APEC, the United Nations, NCCARF, IP Australia and the Queensland government. He has previously worked at the Commonwealth Treasury (Canberra) and the Productivity Commission (Melbourne). He has published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives and the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.
