Joe Perry

Joe Perry

Senior Policy Advisor, IAIS

Joe Perry is a Senior Policy Advisor at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors which he joined in November 2020. He supports work on climate risk, FinTech, operational resilience and pensions and retirement income. He previously led the IAIS’ stakeholder engagement. Joe joined the IAIS from the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Secretariat where he led on communications and supported policy-related projects including the FSB’s work on compensation practices and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. Before joining the FSB in 2015, Joe worked for Standard Chartered in Hong Kong and London and before that Barclays.

Earlier in his career Joe worked in the policy team at the UK’s Financial Services Authority (FSA) on insurance conduct of business regulation and implementing the Payment Services Directive. Before the FSA he worked for a government minister, as a reporter for TIME magazine and at The Sunday Times for over a decade.

Joe holds four Masters degrees in Public Policy and Management; International Business; and Poverty Reduction. His legal training includes an LLM in Financial Law, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law (England) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Bar). Joe will be called to the bar in England and Wales in November 2025.
